Our 2021 Clockspring Zinfandel is a bold yet beautifully balanced expression of Sierra Foothills fruit. The nose is vibrant and enticing, with layers of dark cherry, blackberry, raspberry, and boysenberry, complemented by warm clove spice and a touch of vanilla.
On the palate, rich, concentrated flavors of black cherry, blackberry, black currant, and boysenberry lead the way, followed by subtle notes of rhubarb pie, blueberry, and ripe plum. Hints of vanilla and clove spice from 14 months in small French oak barrels (20% new) add warmth and complexity.
The wine's tannins are well-integrated and gripping, providing structure while maintaining a silky, round mouthfeel. Smooth, soft, and richly textured, this Zinfandel finishes long and lovely—a deliciously elegant red with both depth and charm.
