A welcome return of a favorite label, the 2022 Cross Creek Zinfandel showcases the richness and complexity of Amador County fruit. The blend is led by 94% Zinfandel—80% from the Old Vine Oakmont Vineyard and 14% from Clockspring Vineyard—complemented by 4% Petite Sirah, 1% Sangiovese, and 1% Syrah. The wine aged 15 months in French oak barrels (20% new, 80% neutral).

On the nose, inviting aromas of sweet strawberry and cranberry are layered with a subtle hint of caramel. The palate is rich and silky, opening with flavors of black cherry and juicy blackberry. Bright cranberry notes emerge through the mid-palate, accompanied by a touch of fig. The tannins are well integrated, weaving seamlessly with the fruit and carrying into a long, lingering finish, where a gentle note of clove spice completes the wine’s smooth, elegant texture.
